So at the moment I am in the middle of re-reading all my favorite Lauren Oliver books!
And it has just reminded me of what an epic book this was!
So here's the summary! I'll go into the ins and outs afterwards...

So yeah! This basically is set just after where Delirium leaves off. Lena is in the Wilds and spends days on her own until found by the 'Invalids', who take her in and nurse her back to health. It then kinda goes on about her life in the wilderness with the people. But, in the book, it flashes into the future or the 'now' for her, as when she is in the wilderness that's her past or 'then'. This sounds really confusing so I will explain it here-
Then- Starts in August I think, and begins when Lena steps into the wilds, leaving Alex at the gate. We see her struggle as she deliberates whether she even wants to be there, since she only came so she and Alex could be together and Alex is now suspected to be dead. It's basically her, and the struggles of being in the wilds.
Now- Is in March, and is in New York, where Lena has joined the resistance *yay!*. She is living among the cured and has a fake identity, attending the DFA (Deleria-Free America) meetings and rallys, that kind off thing, and keeping an eye on things. People are now aware of the invalids now and want to give the cure at a younger age, putting people at risk of dying and brain damage. I shall leave it there, where she attends one of the rallys, 'cause I don't want to spoil it!
So it keeps on flashing back and forth between time periods which I didn't like at first, I just found it quite... well... annoying! After a while I did start to appreciate it to be fair, and it really helped to understand the story later on.
Also, there is a new love interest, and he is apparently here to stay. Damn. Sorry, to the new guy, but I'm team Alex all the way, and this boy hasn't grown on me at all. Although some of the scenes between her and... him (Keep wanting to say his name!), are so smokin' my breath actually caught in some bits. Sorry, maybe I'm being a bit weird. Anyway, it's a bit of a love triangle as she's always thinking about Alex, and to be honest I got a teensy bit bored at some parts because I felt it got repetitive.
Anyway! This book ends on the BIGGEST CLIFFHANGER EVER, and I had to pause for a moment in the middle of blind panic, to remember I have already read Requiem (the next and final book in the trilogy) so I didn't have to worry about it...!
I absolutely love this book, and it will definitely be putting it on my August Book Stack, so watch out for that!
